Questions? Call in On Tuesday & Ask Us About Sugar, Dieting & More on My Gab With the Gurus Radio Show

Posted in Diabetes Articles by Connie Bennett on October 26th, 2008
Every week, many readers of this Sugar Shock Blog, my book Sugar Shock! and others who learn about my health coaching and counseling ask me questions about sugar, dieting and more recently, Lyme disease. For quite a while, I've been frustrated, because I just don't have time to answer all your queries. I'm only one person! Besides, to be fair to my private and group clients, I must give them preferential treatment so they can break their bad habits, accomplish their goals and improve their lives. Finally, I figured out a way to help many of you. I'm pleased to...

Lyme Disease Can Rip Apart People’s Lives

Posted in Diabetes Articles by Connie Bennett on October 26th, 2008
As readers of this blog know, back in the summer, I got Lyme disease, which, thankfully, was caught early -- apparently, about two weeks after I was bitten by a tick I never saw. Anyhow, my cousin sent me this intriguing story in the San Francisco Chronicle, which ran before two meetings held recently in San Francisco. One of the groups convening was the international Lyme Disease Association, whose president, Pat Smith, was one of the eloquent guests, who appeared a couple of months ago on my Gab With the Gurus Radio Show about Lyme disease. In addition, cutting edge...

Farmer in Chief: Will He Get a Green Conscience?

Posted in Diabetes Articles by Connie Bennett on October 16th, 2008
As readers of this blog, you're clearly concerned about food, food politics, sustainability, farmers, health care and fuel. But will the new president put these issues at the top of his list to address? Thanks to renowned food activist Michael Pollan, that's a likely possibility, because he penned a thoughtful, insightful, must-read "letter" (really an article, entitled "Farmer in Chief") in The New York Times Magazine's special "Food Issue." Pollan -- who is the Knight Professor of Journalism at the University of California at Berkeley and author of several fabulous books, including his most recent, In Defense of Food: An...

Also, I really to rest and recuperate before my big weekend at the New Life Expo, but I do have a question about tonight's debate. Did any of you hear Obama mention something about corn? Please let me know if you caught it. What was it he said? I'm curious.
