Posted in Diabetes Articles by Connie Bennett on October 17th, 2007
Now that I'm rejuvenated and excited after a fabulous vacation, I'm currently on a whirlwind media blitz. As Halloween (which I dub "Sugar Overload Day") fast approaches, I'm doing a whole bunch of radio and TV interviews, as well as print interviews, etc. For instance, Monday, I began my day by giving an interview to Rick Shepard, a gracious radio host at WKYE-FM and WNTJ-AM in Johnstown, Pennsylvania. Soon afterwards, I was called for last-minute interview with the Howard Stern Show. Only I didn't know it was the Howard Stern Show! The interviewer didn't tell me! All he mentioned was...

Obesity: Will A Bill to Ban Obesity-Related Lawsuits Ever Pass?

Posted in Diabetes Articles by Karen James on October 13th, 2007
Note from Connie: I'm not sure if you’ve heard about the Common Sense Consumption Act of 2007 (H.R. 2183), but if you haven't, you should read this intriguing editorial about it from Virginian-Pilot columnist Kerry Dougherty. SUGAR SHOCK! Blog researcher Karen James tells you about it while I continue relaxing during my long-needed vacation. Americans are more likely than western Europeans to be treated for preventable chronic diseases caused by obesity and smoking, Bloomberg News recently reported. The trend is responsible for adding more than $100 billion a year to U.S. health spending, according to the findings, which appeared in the journal...
